MANDAWA - Mandawa, a small town in the core of the Shekhawati region is known for its havelis and its Fort Palace. The palace reminds one of the cultural and social importance of this region in earlier times. The most important havelis are the Chokhani, Ladia, Binsidhar Newatia and Gulab Rai Ladia Haveli. Binsidhar Newatia Haveli, is known for its curious paintings. The Gulab Rai Ladia Haveli is famed for its erotic images.

NAWALGARH - Nawalgarh is famous for its fort, built in AD 1737 by Thakur Nawal Singh. The Bala Qila has a cabin with beautiful ceiling paintings while the Roop Nivas Palace has now been converted into a hotel. Like Mandawa, Nawalgarh too has numerous important havelis like Anandi Lal Poddar Haveli, Aath Haveli and Khedwal Bhavan.
